Read MoreOne of my favorite spots in Door County is Whitefish Dunes State Park. The beach is painted with beautiful, soft white sand and the water is a deep blue like the ocean. Lake Michigan is so beautiful! There are trails that wind behind the beach and into Cave Point County Park, where you may recognize the name from the well known cliffs.

This particular spot we chose boasted rich orange hues and soft yellows to match the golden hour. My husband Taylor and I lived on the East Coast for a few years, and when we took our first trip to Cape Cod we immediately missed Door County. These two places are SO similar, but your seafood will be a lot more fresh on the East Coast! With that being said, Door County has so much to offer I hope you can take a trip there and see it for yourself.
